Red Hot Chili Peppers to headline Isle of Wight Festival

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as the second headliner of this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

The US rockers will headline the Saturday night of the event, which will take place on June 14.

The news was revealed by the festival's Twitter account, which posted the band's logo made out of sand.

They join the previously announced Biffy Clyro on the festival bill, with the Scottish rockers set for the Friday night headline slot (June 13). Calvin Harris and Rudimental are also due to play on the same day.

Tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival are on sale now.

Red Hot Chili Peppers meanwhile are due to perform at the Super Bowl event in New Jersey on February 2.

They join Bruno Mars on the bill, who is leading the half-time show.
