Red Hot Chili Peppers to release new covers E.P.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are to release a new digital covers E.P. to celebrate their recent induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

The Californian quartet, who were honoured alongside the likes of Guns N’ Roses and Beastie Boys at the prestigious ceremony last week, have chosen to select songs originally recorded by several of their fellow Hall of Fame members for the six-track release.

Their covers of Neil Young (‘Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere’), The Beach Boys (‘I Get Around’), The Ramones ('Havana Affair'), Dion & The Belmonts ('A Teenager In Love') and The Stooges (‘Search and Destroy’) have been collated from various B-sides and rarities but only their rendition of David Bowie’s ‘Suffragette City’ has previously been made available digitally.

Entitled ‘We Salute You,’ the E.P. will be released online through Warner Bros on May 1.
