Producer RedOne on new Lady Gaga album: "We want to make history"

RedOne has confirmed that he is working on Lady Gaga's forthcoming new album as a producer.

The singer is releasing her third full studio album 'ARTPOP' next year and work is underway on the highly anticipated record.

Speaking to MTV, RedOne - who has worked on Gaga's previous albums, as well as with the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj - said that the pair have been sending music between each other as they work on songs for the album. He said:

"We've been sending ideas. We couldn't get together in the studio, but we've been sending ideas back and forth. It's very focused on writing really good songs and, of course, with the vibe of different sounds, different kinds of productions."

The award-winning producer continued: "I don't want to say so much, because I don't know what's going to happen. To be honest with you, I don't know what's going to happen with the songs. My intent is the same thing: make history. If we don't feel like this is part of history again, we're not going to do it, but we're enjoying [the process]. We love doing music, so it will be interesting to see what's going to happen."

RedOne credits success to Gaga and Bieber collaborations

Super producer RedOne has opened up about the fantastic success he has enjoyed in the music industry so far and credited his widespread appeal to teen sensation Justin Bieber.

He teamed up with the Canadian hitmaker for his anthem 'Baby', which has had over 700 million views on video hosting site YouTube, and told Billboard.com that it's "an incredible blessing" to have been a part of it:

"Half a billion views, it's crazy. To me, it's an incredible blessing, because that explains to me that the world loved the song, the video and the artist. The vision that we believed in happened."

Referring to his work with Lady Gaga, RedOne added that their collaborations paved the way for dance music's recent return to the spotlight:

"Dance music always existed but now it's popular. After… Gaga happened, it opened a lot of doors. I have big DJs, I'm not going to mention names, but who came to me and said, 'Oh, thank you, you opened the doors for us, finally we're doing productions.'"

"Because dance music before, the DJs used to do remixes. Now the radio song is a DJ version. So it's an amazing opportunity that happened and i think the dance music is going to stay."
