REACHES #1 ON ITUNES TOP ALBUMS CHART IN OVER 95 COUNTRIES
DRAKE WILL HOST AND SERVE AS MUSICAL GUEST ON MAY 14 EPISODE OF SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
NEW YORK (May 5, 2016) – GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum artist DRAKE has sold over one million albums of his fourth full-length release — Views [ Young Money / Cash Money / Republic Records ] in less than six days. Exclusively available on Apple Music’s premium paid service until May 13, the album was also streamed over 250 million times with over 200 million streams in the US alone. VIEWS achieved both of these feats in less than six days solely on one paid platform—Apple Music.
The album, including digital tracks and streaming album equivalents, has crossed the 1 million mark in U.S. sales and nearly 1.2 million globally, and is expected to bow at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 in North America. Upon release last Friday, Views hit #1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in over 95 countries. It’s available HERE.
The album will be available at all physical and digital download retailers beginning May 6 and will expand to all streaming partners starting May 13.
Ahead of release, OVO Music founder DRAKE met up with Beats 1 anchor Zane Lowe for an extensive interview to discuss the story behind Views, his upcoming tour, The Throne, Rihanna and much more. Among its 20 tracks, Views boasts the current hits “One Dance” [feat. Wizkid & Kyla], “Pop Style,” and bonus track “Hotline Bling” (all three tracks are available with all digital and streaming partners). Drake premiered “One Dance” and “Pop Style” on his Beats 1 OVO Sound radio show earlier this month.
Next up, DRAKE will return for his second stint as host & musical guest on the May 14th episode of SNL.
