JULIA MICHAELS RECEIVES TWO GRAMMY® AWARD NOMINATIONS INCLUDING “BEST NEW ARTIST” AND “SONG OF THE YEAR” FOR “ISSUES”

SET TO PERFORM NEW SINGLE “I MISS YOU” WITH CLEAN BANDIT ON LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MYERS 12/12 AND THE TODAY SHOW 12/14 

Today, this year’s biggest global breakthrough artist—JULIA MICHAELS—received her first-ever GRAMMY® nominations in the top categories of “Best New Artist” and “Song Of The Year” for her RIAA triple-platinum debut single “Issues.” These nominations mark yet another milestone for MICHAELS as “Issues” has now passed 1 Billion streams worldwide.
 
The 60th annual GRAMMY® ceremony airs live from Madison Square Garden in New York City January 28, 2018 at 7:30pm ET/4:30pm PT on CBS.

MICHAELS recently teamed up with electronic dance music sensation Clean Bandit for their new single, “I Miss You.” The song has already racked up nearly 40 million streams on Spotify, where it is rapidly climbing the Global Top 50 chart.  In the U.K. “I Miss You” is already Top 10 on Spotify and #5 on Shazam.  MICHAELS will join Clean Bandit to perform “I Miss You” on Late Night with Seth Meyers December 12 and The Today Show December 14.

MICHAELS GRAMMY® nominations for “Best New Artist” and “Song of The Year” add to a growing list of achievements this year including nominations from the American Music Awards (New Artist of the Year), MTV’s EMAS (Best New Artist and Best PUSH Artist), MTV VMAS (Best New Artist), Billboard Music Awards(Top Covered Artist), Teen Choice Awards (Choice Song: Female and Choice Breakout Artist), Radio Disney Music Awards (The Freshest) and more. Meanwhile, The Music Business Association (Music Biz) recognizes her with a "Breakthrough Artist Award" during its Awards Luncheon on May 17, 2018.

MICHAELS is also quickly becoming an undeniable live presence. She is currently in Australia & New Zealand on tour with Shawn Mendes, and will return stateside to perform at various Jingle Ball dates throughout December. 2017 is the year the world got to know JULIA MICHAELS, but she takes over in 2018.

JULIA MICHAELS quickly cemented herself as the biggest global breakthrough artist of 2017 with the release of her multiplatinum-selling debut single, “Issues.”  Certified triple platinum by the RIAA, with worldwide consumption over 7 million, “Issues” is the best-selling song by a new artist released in 2017, according to Nielsen Music. It is also the highest on-demand audio streaming song by a debut artist this year and MICHAELS is the only solo female artist represented in the lineup of Variety’s 30 Most Consumed Songs of 2017.  As a songwriter, she has co-written seventeen titles that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100, eleven of which have hit the Top 40, including "Issues."
