Rihanna on beach fear: 'The 'Jaws' movies made me so anxious about swimming in the ocean'

Superstar Rihanna has revealed that she has an irrational fear of sharks that came from her love of the 'Jaws' movies.

During a new interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine for the March edition, the hitmaker explained that as someone who grew up on the beach she definitely developed an irrational fear of sharks thanks to Steven Spielberg's iconic film:

"It freaked me out because I was a beach baby, so every time a new 'Jaws' came out I would take months off from the beach or just sit on the sand. If I happened to get in the water, my dad would hum the theme music, and I was right back out of it."

Rihanna went onto add that she took the movies so seriously because she was a kid when they came out: "But that was really my fault because I was obsessed with 'Jaws'. Steven Spielberg was my childhood hero."

The 'Umbrella' songstress was recently confirmed to perform at this year's GRAMMY Awards and will take the stage alongside Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney to perform their new collaboration, 'FourFiveSeconds'.
