Rihanna is set to star in a feature-length documentary.

Deadline confirm that director Peter Berg will be at the helm of the film, which promises to be a "character study" of the singer.

The duo previously worked together on the 2012 fiction movie Battleship.

Berg commented that he wants to examine the "young artist at the top of her professional field".

The documentary will be made by the director's production company Film 45.

Rihanna meanwhile is expected to release her eighth album later this year.
