Companies want their adverts removed from start of Rihanna video

A number of companies have requested that their adverts be removed from the start of Rihanna's new video.

The singer recently unleashed the promo clip for 'Bitch Better Have My Money'.

However, its adult themes - such as nudity, kidnapping and violence - have encouraged some companies to ask Vevo to remove their advertising around the video.

Travel firm Kuoni and The Co-operative Group are among those who have requested the move.

A rep for Vevo responded: "We respect the wishes of our advertisers and we will not run their adverts against any material which they deem to be inappropriate to their brand."

Broadcast group Mediawatch-UK meanwhile commented: "It is fantastic that advertisers have begun to take responsibility and withdraw their support for this unbelievably shocking video.

"I hope more follow suit."
