Rihanna has been confirmed to join 'The Voice' as an adviser

Bajan beauty Rihanna has been confirmed to join the new series of 'The Voice' in the USA as a guest adviser to the judges.

NBC's Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt told reporters today at the TCA Press Tour in Beverly Hills that they're very excited to have the superstar on board

"We landed Rihanna to be the key advisor to all the coaches this fall. This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers."

It was also announced this week that songstress Gwen Stefani will return for the next season of the popular vocal talent show and she will be joined by Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Adam Levine. 'The Voice' will return to NBC on September 21.

Rihanna, meanwhile, recently spoke to Britain's Daily Star newspaper about feeling like she doesn't fit in and confessed that sometimes she feels like an outsider:

“People often misunderstand me. Really I’m quite
a shy person. At different points in my life, I’ve felt like the outsider. It always takes so much to overcome that feeling, like moving to a new neighbourhood. You have all these new friends. You’re the outsider. As a kid that is really difficult, even at school. Then again it was difficult moving to America to do my music – I was a 16-year-old girl from the islands.”
