Rihanna drops management for Jay-Z’s

Rihanna has announced that she is leaving the services of manager Marc Jordan to join Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Management company.

The ‘Umbrella’ singer told The Associated Press in a statement on Wednesday (October 20) that she will be joining the likes of Melanie Fiona and Mark Ronson on the Roc Nation roster, saying that she’s “so excited to take this next step in my career.”

Jay-Z was serving a brief tenure as president of Def Jam when the 17-year-old Rihanna was signed to the label. They subsequently won a Grammy in 2008 for ‘Umbrella’. Rihanna picked up two Grammy’s this year for ‘Run This Town’ featuring Kanye West.

The 22-year-old also announced she is launching a new company called Rihanna Entertainment. She claims it will "merge all of her businesses, including music, film, fragrance fashion and book ventures."

Rihanna’s fifth album, ‘Loud’, is due to drop on November 16.
