'Where Have You Been' superstar Rihanna has pulled out of her upcoming performance at Rock in Rio Madrid 2012 following the death of her grandmother.

She was due to rock the Spanish event on July 5, but the tragic news of her grandmother Dolly's passing has caused her to cancel.

Although Rihanna is yet to comment on the change of plans, organisers of Rock in Rio Madrid posted a confirmation of her decision not to attend.

The Bajan beauty took to social networking site Twitter on July 1 and posted a series of photographs of herself with Dolly, and accompanied the pictures with the caption:

"Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you."
