Rihanna has moved forward the UK release date of her new single.

The star unveiled 'Diamonds' around the world on radio this week but it is said its official UK release date would be November.

However, a post on Rihanna's Facebook page confirms that the track will now be available to buy from late September. It said:

"UK, get "Diamonds" on Sunday 30/9."

The news means that 'Diamonds' will go head-to-head with One Direction's new single 'Live While We're Young', which is released on the same day.

The British pop group's track topped pre-order charts in tens of countries around the world when news of its release broke in August.
