Rihanna teams up with MAC to create makeup collection

Rihanna has confirmed plans to release her own range of makeup.

The singer is teaming up with MAC to to create "multiple" cosmetic collections.

The first product to be released will be a lipstick called RiRi Woo, which will be launched in early May in pop-up shops at her gigs at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

It will be followed by the release of more collections, which will include items such as eye shadow, false lashes and nail polish.

Speaking to WWD about the new partnership, Rihanna said:

"When you think of makeup, the brand that pops into your mind – for something legit – is MAC. Whatever colour you want, it's like, 'Let's go to MAC'. I've been using MAC on tour for such a long time it was a natural fit for me. I have always loved makeup, and I always said that if I do it, I want to do it with a credible brand."

The superstar singer got the ball rolling on Instagram today (February 20) by uploading an image of Rihanna branded products, along with the text:

"That's right baby, I'm a #MACgal now! Get into it, package designed and products created from scratch by yours truly! Thanks to the EPIC team at #MAC for giving me the opportunity to play and share my favorite sh*t with my fans and yours."
