Rihanna on River Island fashion line: 'It's selfish, I designed it so I can wear it'

Bajan beauty Rihanna has opened up about the inspiration for her new fashion line and explained that it is "flirty" and "not very conservative".

The collection, which is in association with UK high street retailer River Island, will launch on March 5 and in this new promotional video she talks about her intentions for the designs and cuts of the items

"The theme throughout the entire collection was easy, laidback chick. Flirty. Not very conservative, but I think anyone can wear this line. It's not costumey and it's not too sexy – it's just very simple, very laidback."

She also explained that the range is very versatile and will hopefully appeal to all of her fans despite the fact that they all have "different personalities", adding: "I think my fans have so many different personalities, but they all think they're very badass. I think they'll enjoy the collection quite much, because it's a lot of me. I'm being very selfish, I designed every piece so I can wear it."
