Rihanna scores sixth record-breaking album

International superstar Rihanna has scored her sixth platinum album with 'Unapologetic'.

According to Nielsen Soundscan, the songstress sold a further 9,000 copies of her seventh studio album this week which sent the record flying past the one million sales mark in the US.

The record-breaking achievement means 'Unapologetic' is the sixth album to reach such a high, with only her 2005 debut 'Music of the Sun' missing out on the accolade.

'Unapologetic' has spawned some of Rihanna's greatest hits including 'Diamonds' and 'Stay'.

And the stunning star's most recent chart offering is selling much faster than her previous album, 'Talk That Talk' which needed an additional sixteen weeks to reach platinum status.

The album featured massive hits including 'You Da One', 'We Found Love' and 'Where Have You Been'.

Rihanna took to Twitter to gush about her latest achievement: “I see you aiming at my pedestal... I betta letcha know... #SOLDOUT #STADIUMSTATUS (sic)."

She added: “I sell out stadiums... Call it what ya want!!! #diamondsworldtour."
