Rita Ora on inspiring the new DKNY scent: 'It represents a city that's so special to me'

Songstress Rita Ora is the new face of Donna Karan's 'My NY' DKNY fragrance and revealed that she embodies the meaning behind the scent's name.

Speaking to Glamour magazine about the perfume, Ora confessed that it was meant to represent the city of Manhattan in a bottle, which she believes it does, and is especially excited about it because New York has an important place in her heart:

"They explained the concept, 'My NY' being about New York and it having to be the city in a bottle and that's where it came from. And I was, 'Oh,' because New York is a really special place. It's where I went into the studio for the first time, that's where I got signed, that's where things happened for me. It made sense and it was a young, fresh fragrance so it smelled awesome and the bottle is awesome. There was no reason for me not to do it."

The 'Shine Ya Light' beauty also opened up about her pre-show routine and explained that spritzing herself with a beautiful fragrance always makes her feel better: "My ritual is: I sip tea, listen to music, reapply my lipstick about 17 million times and spray perfume. I feel like it's my responsibility when I'm on set to give people motivation and make sure everyone's comfortable so they work to their best."
