Rita Ora has landed a guest role in US TV's Empire.

The singer will play herself in the series, which focuses on hip-hop entertainment company Empire Enterprises.

Jennifer Hudson will also feature in the show's upcoming season.

Ora uploaded a photo to Twitter of herself alongside actress Gabby Sidibe on Tuesday (February 3), writing:

"Empire! With this amazing human being! Stay tuned..."

The news comes ahead of the release of the Fifty Shades of Grey film on February 13, with Ora playing the part of Mia.

Courtney Love and Macy Gray meanwhile were confirmed last year to appear in Empire.
