Rita Ora on 'The X Factor': 'I'm so happy to be a part of it'

Songstress Rita Ora has revealed that her decision to join the 'X Factor' as a judge was solidified when she heard what the new series is going to be like.

The 'Poison' hitmaker spoke to Lorraine Kelly on the British morning chat show ‘Lorraine’ and admitted that as soon as she heard about the changes that were going to be made to the talent programme she knew she had to be involved:

"When Simon approached me and he explained to me the show and what they are planning to do this year, I wanted to be a part of it. What’s so great about the new line up - which is really exciting - is that you have four different perspectives, you know. You’ve got all these amazing musicians and business-minded people on the same panel that know music and I’m just happy to be a part of that.”

Earlier this week, former 'X Factor' finalist Cher Lloyd confessed that she was surprised to learn that Simon Cowell had signed Ora up: "I was very surprised that Simon hired Rita. I was shocked - that's for sure. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing, but I guess she's young and very influential. She's definitely on trend, but we'll see. No-one is going to fill Cheryl's shoes without a fight, and anyone who knows Cheryl knows she'll always be Simon's golden girl - she won't let Rita get close to where she's at."
