Rita Ora: 'When my friendships get destroyed I take it personally'

Hitmaker Rita Ora has revealed that she always feels broken hearted when friendships fail and feels as though her new album reflects the end of some relationships that were once important to her.

Speaking to the Evening Standard newspaper this week, Ora admitted that her forthcoming new album is now nothing like it was when she first started writing and recording it because so many different things have happened over the last two years:

"Two years ago, I was living in the States due to personal reasons. I was happy for a moment. So I thought this album was going to be about happiness and la la la. And then I started to recognise things that I’d never seen before about the people around me."

She went onto add that once she realised who the people she had been surrounding herself with really were, she knew she had to distance herself from them and that's when she wrote 'Poison': "Maybe it was the lack of sleep that made me open my eyes to things. When my friendships get destroyed I really take it personally. And a few of those relationships got mishandled."
