Rita Ora on criticism: 'There are some really mean people out there'

Songstress Rita Ora has revealed that she gets disheartened when she realises that people don't think she works hard for her success.

During an interview with The Beat Juice, she was asked if she thinks people give her the respect she deserves and admitted that the public don't seem to understand just how much work she has put into her impressive career:

"I think sometimes it goes over people's heads how hard I work. This didn't happen to me overnight. I've been signed and dropped since I was 14. I finally got an actual solo record deal when I was 17 and even that has issues at the moment. Nothing crazy, just budgets, you know how it is. It's an ongoing battle. So, no. I mean, I'm not going to say 'yeah', but I'm grateful to my fans who keep me going."

She went onto add that she never reads comments or stories about herself anymore because she has encountered some very 'mean' material:

"I don't read the comments anymore but some of it's like 'f**king hell'. There are some mean people out there. Really mean people. It makes me appreciate it more though. I love to work and I work really hard. I think people respect my grind. It's obvious with all my other things going on, I grind a lot."
