Sam Smith stays at the top of the UK albums chart

Sam Smith is enjoying yet another week as the UK’s No. 1 album.

Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ is now spending a fourth non-consecutive week at the top of the chart.

This week’s highest new entry comes from Robert Plant at No. 2 with ‘Lullaby And The Ceaseless Roar’.

The rest of this week’s top five is made up by a non-mover from Ed Sheeran at No. 3 with ‘X’, ‘Royal Blood’ down two to No. 4, and George Ezra’s ‘Wanted On Voyage’, another non-mover, at No. 5.

Other than Robert Plant, there are a number of other new entries to the rest of the Top 40.

New in at No. 6 is Ryan Adams’ self-titled album, Interpol are at No. 9 with ‘El Pintor, ‘Live At The Rainbow ‘74’ from Queen is at No. 11, The Kooks have reached No. 16 with ‘Listen’, Deacon Blues’ ‘A New House’ sits at No. 17, and Banks has debuted at No. 20 with ‘Goddess’.

Just outside of the Top 20 is a new entry from Smokey Robinson with ‘Smokey and Friends’ at No. 21, Jhene Aiko's 'Souled Out' has charted at No. 23, and Stiff Little Fingers are new in at No. 28 with ‘No Going Back’.

Other new entries to the chart come from Status Quo at No. 34 with ‘The Frantic Four’s Final Fling’, M.A.D.’s eponymous album at No. 36, ‘The Physical World’ by Death From Above 1979 at No. 37, and a ‘Best Of…’ from Paul Carrack at No. 34.
