Sam Smith has admitted that he is "emotionally drained" after bagging five awards in just one day.

The singer was honoured at the Q Awards on Wednesday (October 22) with the Best New Act prize.

Later that night Smith attended the MOBOs at London's Wembley Arena, where he picked up four awards.

He reigned supreme in the Male, Album, Song and R&B/Soul categories.

It seems it was all a bit too much for the 22-year-old Brit, who took to Instagram after the awards to say:

"5 AWARDS IN 1 DAY. Completely emotionally drained and so thankful. I love you UK. What a welcome back."

Smith meanwhile released his debut album 'In The Lonely Hour' earlier this year and it instantly hit No.1.
