Sam Smith on headlining Madison Square Garden: 'I'm s***ting myself'

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has revealed that he is very nervous about performing at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden later tonight (January 15) as part of his north American headlining tour.

The 'Stay With Me' sensation took to his official Twitter page this morning and told his followers that he is very anxious about taking the stage at the arena: "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shitting myself about tonight. MADISON SQUARE GARDEN HERE WE COME."

Last night, Smith told his fans that his loved ones flew into New York for the show and tweeted: "My family have just arrived in NYC!! I'm so fucking happy right now." He also shared a snapshot of himself posing with his sisters, which can be seen above left.

His debut album, 'In The Lonely Hour', has returned to the top of the UK albums chart and it is now enjoying its fifth non-consecutive week in the No.1 position.
