Sam Smith: 'Sex is on tap these days with dating apps'

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has opened up about his approach to dating and romance, and confessed that there's nothing exciting about 'sex being on tap', which is a norm in today's generation.

During a new interview with America's GQ magazine, the star explained that romance and the thrill of the chase are being wiped out by dating apps such as Grindr and Tinder, and sex is now just 'on tap' rather than something you have to work towards:

"I made a statement recently about how Grindr and Tinder and those dating apps are just killing romance. People are losing the ability to just walk up to people in a bar and say hello. Sex is on tap, isn't it, with apps like that?"

"It may work for some people, but I miss the mystery. I find it much more sexy when someone's fully dressed in a suit and you've got to work to undress them. Do you know what I mean? Instead of them just immediately being naked for you."

The 'Stay With Me' sensation added that he prefers his role models to be fully clothed and promoting something other than sex appeal: "I sound like a complete old soul right now, but I am. I just feel like people need role models, you know, that are dressed."
