Sam Smith wins four Grammys

Sam Smith was the big winner at this year's Grammy Awards.

The event was held on Sunday (February 8) at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

Smith went home with a total of four awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album for his 2014 debut 'In The Lonely Hour'.

The Brit also bagged the Song of the Year and Record of the Year prizes for 'Stay With Me', whilst he won the Best New Artist gong too.

Speaking after collecting one of his awards, Smith said:

"I want to thank the man who this record is about, who I fell in love with last year. Thank you so much for breaking my heart because you got me four Grammys."

Pharrell Williams meanwhile won three prizes - Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video and Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Beck bagged the coveted Album of the Year award for his effort 'Morning Phase'.
