Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour returns to No.1

Sam Smith has reclaimed the top spot on this week’s Official Albums Chart.

The soul singer’s million-selling debut 'In The Lonely Hour' climbs from 4 to 1 following his sweep at last week’s Grammys to earn him a sixth non-consecutive week at the summit. The record has yet to leave the Top 10 since it was released 38 weeks ago in May 2014.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran’s 'X' holds at No.2, and Drake’s 'If You’re Reading This You’re Too Late' charges to No.3 following its surprise release on Friday (February 13).

Irish quartet Kodaline are new at No.4 with their second studio album 'Coming Up For Air', and George Ezra’s 'Wanted On Voyage' completes the Top 5.

US jazz singer Gregory Porter reaches a new peak on the chart with 'Liquid Spirit', which jumps four places to No.10, while indie-rockers Peace enter at 12 with 'Happy People'.

Elsewhere, acoustic singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti makes his Top 40 debut with 'Written In Scars' at 13, folk singer-songwriter Father John Misty lands at 14 with 'I Love You', Honeybear, and Alanis Morissette’s seminal 'Jagged Little Pill' re-enters the chart at Number 16.

US southern rock/country band Blackberry Smoke score their third UK Top 40 album with 'Holding All The Roses' at No.17, British duo The Unthanks land at 26 with 'Mount The Air', and Beck’s 'Morning Phase' re-enters at 31 following his Grammy wins for Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album.

Rounding off the Top 40 are Black Rivers with their self-titled debut at 35, and US singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters earns her first Top 40 album with 'Blackbirds' at No.39.
