Sam Smith on class: 'Let's not get our asses out, people'

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has revealed that he believes in dressing well and being respectful because it's tacky to be walking around with your 'ass hanging out'.

Speaking to Vogue magazine, the 'Stay With Me' sensation admitted that he feels as if the music industry is losing all sense of class and it's important to dress well rather than to just try and sell records with bare skin: "We're losing class. There is a way to share an insight into your personal life without being classless, which is what I'm trying to do. Let's not get our asses out, people. Let's put on a suit."

He also confessed that he wants to learn about film-making so that he can make his own music videos from start to finish: "I want a crash course so I can start directing my own videos."

Smith, meanwhile, took to his official Twitter page earlier today and admitted that he was overwhelmed by Lady Gaga's performance at last night's Oscars ceremony: "Legitimately just cried my eyes out at @ladygaga's Oscar performance. Especially when Julie Andrews walked out. Bravo gorgeous x Bravo."
