Boston hospital expects Sam Smith to make full recovery from surgery

Massachusetts General Hospital has stated that they except Sam Smith to make a full recovery after having vocal surgery.

The singer recently had an operation in the hospital after suffering a vocal cord hemorrhage.

The hospital today (May 19) issued a statement to confirm the news, adding that they expect the Brit to recover completely.

They said: "Sam Smith underwent vocal cord microsurgery by Dr. Steven Zeitels to stop recurrent vocal cord hemorrhage (bleeding). This condition is the result of unstable blood vessels in the vocal cord that can rupture and prevent vocal performance.

"Dr. Zeitels expects Sam to make a full recovery from his laser microsurgery."

Zeitels meanwhile has previously worked with singers such as Lionel Richie and Adele.
