Sam Smith 'in love with music again' after vocal scare

Sam Smith says he has a new found appreciation for music after undergoing vocal surgery.

The singer went under the knife recently after suffering from a vocal cord haemorrhage.

He was unable to speak during his recovery, but the Brit has now confirmed on Instagram that he is allowed to talk again.

Writing on the image sharing website, Smith thanked his doctors before paying tribute to the magic of music.

He said: "Completely overwhelmed. Thank you so much Doctor Zeitels for everything. You have truly saved me this past few months. Such an amazing man.

"You truly truly truly don't know what you got until you lose it. I have fallen in love with music all over again over this past month, and more than ever I feel so blessed to be able to sing and do what I love every day xx."

Smith added further photos of himself undergoing vocal therapy.
