Sam Smith shoots down James Bond theme rumours: 'I heard Ellie Goulding is doing it'

Sam Smith has denied that he is working on the next James Bond theme.

The latest instalment of the spy movie series Spectre will be released on November 6.

The identity of its theme's performer has yet to be revealed - but Smith was thought to be a frontrunner.

However, the musician told Capital FM in a new interview that he isn't doing it, adding that he'd heard another British singer had been picked.

Smith said: "It's definitely not me. People seem to think I'm doing it but I have no idea what's going on.

"I'm being deadly serious! I think I would know by now."

The 'Stay With Me' star added: "I heard Ellie Goulding was going to do it - it's definitely not me."
