Sam Smith planning a hiatus: 'I'm going to take a massive break'

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has revealed that he's planning on taking a hiatus later this year because he's endured some stressful situations and setbacks that he wants to fully recover from.

During an interview with Britain's Magic Radio, the 'Stay With Me' sensation admitted that he's ready to take a break towards the end of 2015 and regroup following this year's trying events, which include throat surgery following a worrying vocal cord haemorrhage.

"I'm going to take a break. A massive break towards the end of the year I think. Just because I want to re-gather. I'm already writing. I feel like I've already got the title to the album; I've got the concept to the album. I work in terms of concepts."

As previously reported, Smith also confessed that recovering from surgery wasn't all bad because he got the chance to hang out with his family: "It was beautiful for me to be able to kind of regain my normality a little bit. Just be with my mum and my dad and my sisters, and remember how to laugh and chat about them and not have to talk about me all the time."
