(Updated November 3: Listen to Sam Smith's new album on iTunes here)

Sam Smith's upcoming album, 'The Thrill Of It All', is out on November 3.

The celebrated UK singer-songwriter, who found the extraordinary courage to come out as gay when he was only 10 years of age, appeared on The Ellen Show last week (October 24), where he talked about his Oscar win, as well as addressing his break between albums.

The 'Too Good at Goodbyes' singer won an Oscar for 'Best Original Song' with Jimmy Napes for the James Bond 'Spectre' movie theme song, 'Writing's On The Wall', in 2016. Mentioning his speech, he told Ellen DeGeneres:

"It all started with a hip flask of tequila. I wasn't happy with with my performance, and we thought we had no chance of winning at all, so I was just like, 'let's just get the party started, lets have some fun!' I had a little hip flask, having some tequilas, warming up, and then we won! I was just like 'Woah!'

"I went up and I mucked up my speech. I forgot to say 'Best Male Actor'. I basically said I was the first gay person to ever win an Oscar! I obviously know I'm not - my brain and my mouth did not work together. I mucked up."

Smith admitted that after his Oscar win, he became overwhelmed. He said: "It all got a bit too much after the Oscars."

The star says his first album was written during a time when he was really lonely but admits that his upcoming album, 'The Thrill Of It All', is very different and he hopes it will really show his emotional growth.

Sam Smith fans brace yourselves, as it's nearly that time.
