Last night saw the return of the annual Met Ball Gala in New York City and Selena Gomez shared an adorable video of herself larking around with close pal Taylor Swift, which has put rumours that suggested they had fallen out to bed.

Writing alongside the video clip, Gomez shared the honest and loyal nature of the pair's friendship: "And during... sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets."

Gomez wowed with her outfit at the Met Gala and wore a beautiful deep-plum coloured dress by Diane Von Furstenberg, which she styled with an up-do and chandelier earrings. 

Swift, meanwhile, took to her official Twitter page before the celebrity event and confessed that her cat, Meredith, had clawed her stunning designer gown: "That moment when your cat casually walks up,then abruptly ATTACKS your custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown during your fitting for Met Ball."
