Selena Gomez: 'People are always looking for subliminal messages in my tweets or posts'

Singer and actress Selena Gomez has revealed that she doesn't pay attention to stories written about her in the press because they try to decode everything she writes on her social media outlets in case she posts a hidden message that would make for a great article.

Speaking to ET Online, she explained that the media has a taste for analysing every tweet or online comment she makes in hopes that reading into her messages might uncover some juicy gossip:

"I don't think about it. Half the time I don't really pay attention to it. I might post something that means I'm super excited about something, but I could post a picture of a water bottle and people will think it's subliminal for something."

She went onto add that she's very comfortable with the level of information she shares and what she writes should simply be taken at face value: "I just live my life and my fans get to know if I'm having slumber parties or if I'm promoting a movie I'm excited about and that's how I look at it."
