Selena Gomez has been added to the American Music Awards line-up.

The singer and actress surprised fans with new single 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' on Thursday (November 6).

It has now been confirmed that the US star will perform the track at the AMAs on November 23 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Other new additions to the bill include Imagine Dragons, who will run through 'I Bet My Life', whilst country's Garth Brooks will star via a satellite link-up from a gig at Greensboro, North Carolina.

They join a line-up that already features the likes of One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, Lorde and Fergie.
