Selena Gomez anxious about AMAs performance: 'I wasn't prepared for how nervous I'd be'

Songstress Selena Gomez has revealed that she's really nervous ahead of her performance of new song 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' at this coming weekend's American Music Awards.

She will treat the live audience and viewers alike to a rendition of the track at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles this Sunday (November 23) and shared a snapshot of herself rehearsing on Instagram, which she captioned with:

"Rehearsing for the AMAs. Wasn't prepared for how nervous Id be, I mean I've done this before. But now it's just me. All of me."

The beauty, meanwhile, recently sat down for a chat with Ryan Seacrest and explained that the music video for the song ended up being released later than originally planned, but the timing turned out to be perfect:

“The video was supposed to come out three times and through coincidence or through changes [in my life], it just didn’t happen. And it’s also a step for me knowing like, ‘Ok, this is what I’m about to say, and I need to say it when I’m ready,’” she said. “And I think after this year, it’s the perfect way to end the year, it’s the perfect way to end a chapter in a way. It’s like, this is what I’ll say about every single person that has judged me for every decision that I’ve made, for every person, [and] heart that is being judge for something they’ve done, and now I just want to release it. I want to keep going and I want to work on things and have all the focus just be on what I love and have fun, and new music, and a new chapter in my life. I’m excited.”
