Selena Gomez on Vulnerability: “The one thing I wish people knew about me is my heart”

Former Disney starlet Selena Gomez wowed the audience at the 2014 American Music Awards with an incredibly emotional performance of 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' and she has now revealed that she wants to be publicly vulnerable because it feels like the honest thing to do.

Speaking backstage at the event in a special video diary update, the songstress explained that she wants to be open and raw with her fans and it's finally time to be bold and just go there:

"Somebody asked me a while ago, 'What's the one thing you wish people knew about you?' And I said I wanted it to be my heart."

Referring specifically to her rendition of the well-received song at the star-studded ceremony, the beauty added: "When I had the intention behind the performance, I knew that I wanted it to be all of me."

During a recent interview with Norway's NRJ Radio, Gomez likened being in the recording booth at a studio to being in a therapy session and confessed that it's very cathartic: "Going into the studio is very therapeutic. It was my way of having it be a message more to people in general."
