Selena Gomez on fame: 'I'm finally getting a little more comfortable'

Superstar Selena Gomez has revealed that her experience with depression seems to be linked with her celebrity status, and she is now working on being more comfortable in the spotlight.

During a revealing new interview with V magazine, the beauty admitted that she has really struggled with the pressures of fame and often finds herself wanting to hide from the world because it's something she can't quite figure out how to deal with:

"My friends will come over and I’ll have movie nights and then I’ll have not left the house, just because that (being photographed) was in the back of my mind. As much as I don’t like to wake up and think about that it’s there, it’s naturally just there. My response was to stay in, which sucked. That’s what I was trying to fix this past year, I’m finally getting a little bit more comfortable. It’s a process.”

As previously reported, the sensation admitted that she stopped leaving the house for a while because she didn't want to face the paparazzi: "There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn't leave [my home] as much. I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit." She added: "It was just easier to say, 'Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up? I don't want to get photographed.'"
