Selena Gomez reckons people don't want to disassociate herself and Justin Bieber.

The two young singers dated for a number of years on and off before splitting up more recently.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, the US star said that she believes some people would rather not forget about their relationship.

Gomez said: "It's difficult for people to separate us.

"The internet wants to freeze this moment in time and constantly repeat it. I didn't think I was doing anything bad by falling in love."

When asked if she is currently in love, the 'Come & Get It' star added:

"No. I've been working my butt off.

"I'm dating, but I don't really want anything."
