Selena Gomez admires Taylor Swift: 'She pulls me out of my shell'

'Good For You' sensation Selena Gomez has revealed that she owes her close friend Taylor Swift a lot because she has encouraged her to come out of her shell.

During a revealing new interview with Billboard ahead of the release of her new album 'Revival', which is set to drop tomorrow (October 9), the songstress admitted that Swift has helped her to feel more confident:

"Taylor makes me feel empowered. The way she cares about women is so adamant. It’s pulling me out of my shell."

As previously reported, the star also opened up about her break in 2013 and confessed that she underwent chemotherapy for lupus: "That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke."

"I wanted so badly to say, "You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re a**holes". I locked myself away until I was confident and comfortable again. I'm so f**king nice to everybody and everyone is so vile to me. I’ve been working since I was 7. I’ve been a UNICEF ambassador since I was 17. It’s so disappointing that I’ve become a tabloid story."
