Selena Gomez: 'I've really stripped down and shown my heart to people'

Songstress Selena Gomez has revealed that she loves to draw on personal experiences for her music because it gives it the 'deep emotion' that helps people to really connect with it.

Speaking to Open House Party recently, the 'Good For You' beauty explained that the point of music is to reach people on an emotional level and she believes that her current body of work has been successful in doing that:

"Of course my personal life translates into my music. That's been known since 'The Heart Wants What It Wants'... that was the first time I ever stripped down and showed every part of my heart to people - it's a part of music."

She continued: "Of course it's a part of who I am, but that's not the point of music. When you listen to really deep emotional song it's going to mean something to you. I remember when I heard 'Hello'... I'm not thinking about what Adele went through, I'm thinking about what I went through."
