Selena Gomez on social media: 'I'll give it all up in a few years'

'Hands To Myself' sensation Selena Gomez has revealed that she plans to quit social media in a few years because it won't be important to her when she's older.

During a new interview with W magazine, the beauty admitted that she is making good use of it right now because it gives her the ability to speak her mind to a huge global audience with the immediacy that print interviews can't achieve, but there will come a point where she no longer needs it:

"In a few years, I'll give all of it up. I'm utilising social media right now because of my age and because, to be honest, everybody else in the world was talking about me, so I wanted a f---ing say. I honestly had to, because I didn't really expect my life to be as public as it was. Is this going to destroy me or make me? I still have to make that choice on a daily basis."

As previously reported, Gomez also spoke about the rumoured feud between herself and Miley Cyrus and confessed that it wasn't as big as the press made out

"We never feuded. We both liked the same guy when we were 16. It was just a Hilary Duff - Lindsay Lohan thing. [Like] ’Oh my god, we like the same boy!’ We are now completely settled in our lives.”
