Selena Gomez on Kesha's legal battle: 'I wouldn't wish that on anyone'

Singer Selena Gomez is the latest star to discuss Kesha's recent court case and confessed that it's just so "difficult to be a woman" in the entertainment industry.

Kesha made headlines this year after her legal request to emancipate herself from a contract with Dr. Luke, who she says drugged and raped her, was denied in court. This shocking outcome has rattled the music world and many celebrities have spoken out in support of her.

Speaking to BBC Music about Kesha's recent legal battle, Gomez admitted that she is 'sensitive' to the bad experiences other musicians have that often find their way into the public eye:

"I'm very sensitive to that subject. It's difficult to be a woman in this business, and I don't wish those situations upon anyone. but I've been very fortunate. For years, my life was Disney Channel and I had a wonderful experience. Then, after that, I had my mom with me at all times."

As previously reported, the 'Hands To Myself' beauty recently told Capital FM that she often thinks about collaborating with good friend Taylor Swift, but no plans have been put in place yet: "The opportunity has always been there and I think she is one of the most talented songwriters I have ever met. I don’t know – I would want it to be a moment but we’ll see.”
