Selena Gomez says she relates to her younger fans more than people her own age.

She revealed that at 19 years old, she still shares the same insecurities as her young audience and is happy to grow with them.

Selena is best known for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’. She is currently is the lead singer and founder of the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which has released ‘Kiss & Tell’, ‘A Year Without Rain’ and recently their third studio album, ‘When the Sun Goes Down’.

She said in an interview: She said: "I get on better with kids than people my own age. I'm growing up, but they're growing up with me.

"We all go through the same things, feeling awkward in your body and stuff."
