Selena Gomez praised for getting rid of bindi in 'Come & Get It' music video

Last month, a group a Hindus revealed that they were offended by Selena Gomez's use of bindis as merely decoration during her performance of her new single at the MTV Movie Awards.

She wore a bindi during her seductive rendition of 'Come & Get It' at the ceremony in April, which enraged Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, who told press that "it is not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed. Selena should apologise and then she should get acquainted with the basics of world religions."

The beauty has now released the track's official music video and has avoided using the traditional item as part of her costume. Zed has since told E! News that if she was curious to learn more about the Hindu faith "he or other Hindu scholars would gladly assist, if asked", and he was glad she recognised her misuse of the bindi.
