Selena Gomez credits 'Spring Breakers' with teaching her to take risks

Former Disney starlet Selena Gomez has revealed that acting in the raunchy movie 'Spring Breakers' was a fantastic experience on a personal level as it taught her an important lesson.

The film contains adult themes and sees the main characters indulging in a lot of risqué behaviour, and Gomez explained that taking on the project was a bold move that really paid off given her squeaky-clean background:

"This opened my eyes and made me more comfortable in taking risks. I'm excited just to look at what's out there and take the next step and do a couple of different roles, whatever they are."

The 'Come & Get It' beauty added that it has opened up a new world of possibility for her career wise as she's no longer looked at as just the 'Wizards of Waverly Place' star: "It also changed people's perception in Hollywood, I think it's exciting to throw people off, so I like it."

"Spring Breakers helps me not be afraid. Like I said, I'm generally very tentative and over-thinking but this movie made me push myself."
