Sheppard tell Pressparty it's 'humbling' to win Australian songwriting awards

Sheppard say it is "humbling" to have won big at this year's APRA Music Awards.

The ceremony was held today (March 24) in Australia and it honours the country's top songwriters.

Sheppard won two prizes at the awards - Most Played Australian Work and Pop Work of the Year for their hit single 'Geronimo'.

Speaking to Pressparty after the news came in, singer George Sheppard said that he is particularly proud of landing the gongs.

"I think of all of the awards that we've won, the APRA awards are probably the most respectable.

"They're peer voted - other songwriters and other people of the music industry vote - so it means a lot to us that our colleagues and peers voted for us like that. It's quite humbling."
