Sia on new single 'Chandelier': 'It could have gone to Rihanna or Beyoncé'

Australian singer-songwriter Sia has confessed that her new single, entitled 'Chandelier', could have been sent to Beyoncé or Katy Perry, but after writing it on a whim in the studio she knew it was hers.

During an interview yesterday (Marh 17) with American radio host Ryan Seacrest, she confessed that the song materialised as if from nowhere and she just decided to keep it for herself:

"I usually think, 'Oh this would work for Rihanna, or this would be a good one for Bey or Katy'. But this time I was like, 'Uh oh I think I just wrote a full-blown pop song for myself by accident!' My friend Jesse Shatkin and I were jamming in the studio – I was playing piano and him on the marimba – and this gem popped out."

Upon hearing the cut, vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert took to his official Twitter page to tell his fans how much he likes it, writing: "Chandelier is SOOOOOOOOO good. Holy mutha."
