Simon Cowell has dismissed speculation that Rihanna or Rita Ora might join the UK X Factor.

The music mogul recently announced his return to the show alongside Cheryl Cole, but there is still a space to be filled after Nicole Scherzinger left.

Rihanna has often been mooted for the role and previous guest judge Rita Ora has also been mentioned.

However, Cowell told the Mirror that neither act are in line for the job. He said:

"In terms of the rumours - Rita Ora no, Rihanna we never spoke to. Louis I would like to come back. It's a decision I've got to make with the producers and ITV so we'll see what happens."

The Syco man recently said that he had about a month to decide on the panel.
