Simon Cowell has appeared to confirm reports that Louis Walsh is no longer part of the X Factor.

The Irishman has been a judge on the UK TV talent show since it started in 2004.

However, The Sun said on Sunday (May 10) that his time on the programme has come to an end.

Cowell took to Twitter today (May 11) to suggest that the news is true.

He wrote: "Louis Walsh is one of the good guys. We will always be friends.

"The door remains open and who knows what's next."

Olly Murs and Caroline Flack meanwhile will host the next X Factor after Dermot O'Leary's contract was not renewed.

The other members of the judging panel - Cheryl, Cowell and Mel B - have not yet confirmed their inclusion on the 2015 series.
